WELCOME TO THE FLAMINKKO BLOG!
Hiiiiiiii Friends!
Welcome to the first Flaminkko blog post. I decided to start a blog (sometimes it might just be a micro blog) because I am so tireddddd of social media, Meta, and the algorithm. I want to move away from worrying about the statistics of how well a post is doing and just have a space where I can post art updates, thoughts, & sketchbook pages with friends, family, and anyone who loves art as much as I do. I would not consider myself a writer (even though I ironically have a degree in both English Literature and Book Publishing) so these posts will mostly be short and sweet. I might have some longer posts in between, but it will mostly be a space to share my art in a pressure-free environment. So let’s get into it!
Lately it has been a struggle to come up with things to draw or paint in my sketchbook. I decided to challenge myself by finding one thing during my day to take a picture of and use as reference for my sketchbook. It feels like a good way to challenge my creativity and a good way to by mindful about the world around me as I go about my day. So for my first post, here is day 1 of the challenge I set for myself:
day 1

I noticed the beautiful little tree on a walk with my dogs the other morning. The morning light was shining so perfectly and it really captured the beauty of the freshly fallen snow still lingering on the branches.
I hope you’ll stick around for the journey. If you have questions you’d like to see answered in future posts, let me know in the comments below! Even if this is the one and only post you read, thanks for taking the time to stop and visit my cozy little corner of the internet!
